TRANSPARENCY 10/10
Informative website, with a complete whitepaper, coupled with comprehensive relevant professional videos. There are no questions that couldn't be answered by reading the available material.
TEAM 10/10
Dynamic team composed of enterprise and entrepreneur level talent coming from all industries relative to the nature of the project. Sufficiently staffed (for a startup) and well supported by a team of advisors.
RESOURCES 9.6/10
Software based utility project (no special hardware equipment needed). Already established payment provider partnerships and proven relationships needed to expand that network. Plan to issue debit cards will require agreements with Visa/Mastercard, which has been hard to do for most other ICOs and cryptocurrencies.
DISRUPTION 7.6/10
Addresses speed, scalability, improved resource management, implements behavioral/performance based metrics. Effectively utlizes DAG technology. Some of these issues have been solved by other coins which means COTI will have to compete in the market space.
ICO PLAN 8.3/10
The ICO plan has gone through iterations, but has improved each time. The organization is proving itself by obtaining more funding and resources than it needs, to launch its products and services. The organization has decided to wait until the main-net launch before issuing tokens.
SUSTAINMENT PLAN 10/10
COTI is targeting a multi trillion dollar e-commerce industry and already has an adequate portfolio of network partners to launch with. They have an MVP (Minimal Viable Product), they have showcased their beta technologies, they are veterans of payment processes, fintech, and digital technologies, and they are collectively no strangers to R&D and entrepreneur startup projects.
COMMUNITY 9.7/10
COTI has a vibrant and interested online community that is well staffed with active administrators to speak on behalf of the project. The Telegram channel is upbeat with over 28,000 members that appear to have a positive and encouraging sentiment on the pace/development of the project.
RATING IMPROVEMENT CRITERIA
COTI would have to find an additional problem to solve that fits within their mission. Something that generates greater disruption or differentiation as a product/service. That may or may not be possible without breaking their already solid business model, so we will state rating improvement criteria as "none".
SUMMARY
COTI combines all the tools necessary to make a comprehensive and competitive alternative solution for payments on the internet. While we see it more of an technological improvement than a disruptive innovation (in the existing payment space), it is a solid project with a well polished brand impression. They appear to be making strategic moves and utilizing patience to add value in the long run. These practices tend to stand a good chance of being rewarded with high likelihood of adoption, when matched up against competitors.
